Travel with Me! Nelson, BC: Part 1

I hope you have had a chance to see my previous chapters of “Travel with Me” with my focus being Victoria, BC.

This time, in BEAUTIFUL Nelson, we were privileged enough to stay at the Prestige Lakefront Hotel which overlooks the pristine Kootenay Lake!

The hotel is filled to the brim with amenities! There’s a gym, pool, hot tub, cafe, hairdresser and a lakeside restaurant. There’s also a waterfront path that’s easily accessible and very scenic.

Our room was huge. There was even a television IN THE BATHROOM. I’ve never seen that before.

Guest services left me this lovely note and gift bag. I truly felt spoiled and the customer service was top notch.

We loved sitting out on the deck and looking out at the great views.

I want to thank the kind folks at Prestige for giving me the opportunity to have a complimentary stay in exchange for my review.

I had the pleasure of having Shimona Henry cut, colour and style my hair. Her expert precision, attention to detail and wonderful conversation made me completely at ease.

Shimona and I share a passion for vintage and it was amazing to connect with someone who knew what I was talking about!

Graduating at the top of her class, she was the student of the year at John Casablancas in 2016.  Her love for colourful hairstyles and building strong connections with her customers is a driving passion with versatility and uniqueness being the name of the game!  Need a fab new do? Her hours are 10am to 8pm Sunday to Wednesday. She also shares her wisdom and knowledge at East Vanity Parlour in group demos as well as one-on-one sessions!

Connect with Shimona:

I was so lucky to be given the most incredible hair cut and colour i’ve EVER HAD. Shimona made excellent suggestions and asked how I wear my hair and my maintenance routine. This is the first time I felt guided and had kind, professional advice.

The cut was done a few weeks before the colour! Shimona bleached my hair and used Joico products for the colour. She finished it off with some product and cute hair straightener curls!

CBC Docs POV Presents Love, Hope & Autism

Firstly, I want to say thanks to CBC for giving me the chance to view this incredible film before it even airs on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 9 PM.

Update: This has become my most popular post yet—but I have no idea where the traffic is coming from. Where did you find this post? Comment below and let me know, Thanks!

Love, Hope & Autism centres around fraternal twins Fraser and Hallee Fresco and their journey growing up. Their bond is beautiful. Fraser is Autistic and Hallee is not. The special connection Fraser has with his Cameraman Father is so unique and really amazing. I loved seeing all their adventures captured on screen. The fact that so much of it is footage captured by the Father during the twins childhood provides a fresh perspective like nothing i’ve seen before.

I hope you have the chance to watch it and open the discussion of how diverse Autism really is and how it can bring some families together, much like it did for the Frescos. There is still a complete lack of funding and resources for adults on the spectrum and this film definitely brings it to light.
