I feel so incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to have had 11 brands share their products with me to review.

I have always had lofty goals with having a platform to express myself and connect with likeminded individuals.

Things i’ve accomplished this year:

  • Focused on my blog
  • Ran two contests
  • Got a new job
  • Got a second cat

Things I plan to accomplish next year:

  • Gain press passes to events
  • Review films
  • Work with more brands/companies
  • Establish a media creation program for those who are differently abled
  • Network with those who can empower me and support my journey

I’m honestly so excited. I can’t wait to see what surprises are in store for me and for all of you. If you have any ideas or suggestions, i’m all ‘ears’, or shall I say ‘eyes’?

Protecting young ears and creating a fun way to listen is what these are all about.

David Cassidy

David Cassidy was more to me than just a star of days gone by. He was handsome, charisma and talent rolled in to one. His album “Rock Me Baby” was the soundtrack to my teenage years. I would spin that record over and over again. It never got old or stale. The sense of warmth I got from his music can only be described as hair-raising, goosebump-inducing auditory pleasure.

I like to remember him as the young adult he once was and will be remembered for. His beautiful voice, his ability to transcend generations and his captivating spirit and passion  was the ticket to his success.

From what i’ve read, he wanted to be a serious actor and earn the much coveted trophies and accolades to go with it. His career turned out to be much different.

Perhaps he harboured resentment.

I’m certain the amount of people who can truly say that their lives were enhanced by his visual and auditory contributions, well, they’re probably much more then I can fathom.

I’m writing this at 5:02 in the morning. I was awake in my bed and started “writing” this out in my head and I couldn’t take it anymore. It was eating away at me since his passing. I’ve been doing my own mourning. I didn’t write much about it before today. Those who know me, know how much of an impact he’s made on my life.

When I started really trying to propel my art further in to the world, I would always mention him as an inspiration. I don’t think those who interviewed me could grasp the idea that an actor, a singer, a personality like his, could inspire visual art.

I feel as though when I listen to his music and watch his shows that I am interpreting the vibes I get and, in turn, getting it all on canvas. Art is art. Art can truly make other art happen if you let it, and boy, did I ever. I was on a roll for years and his music was a constant source of happiness for me.

I know he battled his demons and i’m not here to glorify his addiction or even the way he  treated himself and his family. I’m most certainly not. I can say I have ideas of what it’s like to be hurt by others and it’s a very horrible feeling… but I can admire those who leave something good in the world and have some kind of legacy. It’s humbling to know that his family came together in his final moments and that there was closure.

I’ll always remember him fondly.

Jackson Galaxy!

I have appreciated Jackson Galaxy ever since I stumbled upon videos of “My Cat From Hell” on youtube. His passion, adoration and heartfelt feelings towards Cats who needed his help was something that deeply moved me. I believe that there’s something incredibly special about Jackson and the work he does. He sometimes has to help the human family before he is able to help the Cat. The work he does is multi faceted.

My boyfriend, Justin and I were lucky enough to find out that he wasn’t too far from us and we were able to go to his book signing for “Total Cat Mojo”. He spoke so intensely and with a lot of humour.

Afterwards, we were able to meet him and get our book signed! Quickly, I told him about Ruby and how she bonded with Buddy right away. He said something along the lines of how rare it was or how lucky we were. It’s so cool to meet someone you have idolized for years and REALLY appreciate the work they do with such a vulnerable population of feline companions!

I’ll never forget this moment in my life and will continue to follow Jackson’s PHENOMENAL career.

Learning something new

I never could have imagined I would ever be lucky enough to have a job with an incredibly supportive environment. Yet, here I am.

Screen Shot 2017-11-14 at 11.34.58 PM

I’m not stressed out when I have to go to work. I’m not feeling like i’m going to be repeatedly in trouble, have my self worth continually diminished and feel like I am at the bottom of the food chain.

I’m FINALLY EMPOWERED. I am constantly surrounded by incredibly passionate individuals who are happy and are patient with me.

The lighting isn’t overpowering, the only smell is of vibrant and rich coffee, which I love. I’m learning so much. I’m allowed to be on the point of sale system, connecting with customers, preparing their orders & giving them an authentic smile.

I don’t feel like I constantly have to remind people that there are things I find difficult. Sure, my short term memory sucks, I’m having to figure out things in a pace that works for me but the best thing of all is really feeling appreciated, accepted and valued.

There’s something to be said for a place of work where customers and employees are valued. I think this is the key to success and the key to being profitable.

I am so fortunate to have a great work/life balance and have the opportunity to have my blog and go somewhere to learn and grow as a decent human being.  Thank you for joining me on this CRAZY journey!

Furless Cosmetics

Plenty of wonderful THANK YOU’s to send to Furless Cosmetics for sending me some fab products.

I am so impressed with the quality, the pigmentation and the softness of the bristles. I also LOVE the name because going FURLESS is SO incredibly important to me. I’ve even gotten “in to it” with some fur wearing fashion bloggers. Yikes.

They have an incredible range of products and it’s all top notch.

Check out my video to see how I use the brushes and eyeshadow pigments!

Buddy and Ruby update!

I’ve heard from a lot of you and you have expressed you’d like more cat updates.

Well we’ve had Ruby since October 16th and she’s made so much progress. Ruby is so bonded to Buddy now and she’s the happiest little lady.

I couldn’t help myself. I had to make this video:

Actually Autistic: Rejection and Defeat

Missamé Brushes & Au Naturale Cosmetics

I would like to thank both Missamé and Au Naturale Cosmetics for sending me some fab products. They are both being used in my video above.

Missamé

They make an INCREDIBLE Synthetic Makeup Brush Set which they were kind enough to send me. The bristles are so silky smooth and the coverage is flawless. I am so impressed, this is my first real set of brushes and I could not be happier. They come in a roll up case too.  They can be purchased here!

Au Naturale Cosmetics

I love the fact ALL their products are natural. They were kind enough to send me a couple of samples and 3 full size su/Stain Lip Stains in On Pointe, Hero and Terra Cotta. I was apprehensive at first, thinking there was NO WAY I could pull off each colour but I was very surprised. They are ultra pigmented and taste like berries. You definitely have to carry it with you and make sure you reapply but the colour pay off is so worth it. I got tons of compliments and it’s ultra moisturizing. Check out their extensive line of products here!
